Meet Angelina Yeh, Columbia CS ‘28

She’s curious, creative, and cares about the planet. Meet Angelina Yeh, this week’s Eco-Spotlight feature. We asked her 5 quick questions about life, impact, and what she’s bringing to the Flash Grüb table. Let’s dig in. 🍽️✨

What’s one thing you’ve learned at
Flash Grüb that surprised you?

One thing that I’ve learned that surprised me was the importance of pivoting – perseverance goes far in achieving your goals, and always have a plan.

What does reducing waste and food sustainability mean to you personally?

Having volunteered at food pantries and park clean-ups, I understand how important it is to be able to feed our communities and also protect our environment from pollutants. We have limited resources on our Earth, and we should make every effort to use it efficiently for the benefit of all of us 🌎💚

What made you want to intern at Flash Grüb?

I joined Flash Grüb because I really resonated with the organization’s mission, bridging food sustainability with technology, to bring positive change to both local businesses and users. Having previously initiated a blog, Ecoprint, and local library campaigns to spread awareness about the general environment, it is a great honor to be able to zone in on the impact of food sustainability. It is very rewarding to continuously find ways to reduce food waste and provide affordable food to our local communities. It is also amazing seeing the growth of our community, appreciating and joining our mission to save and enjoy delicious food. At Flash Grüb, combining my interests in sustainability, technology, and education, it is exciting to be part of a movement towards a greener future. I hope you join it too.😊

How does working on FG fit into your Columbia journey or goals?

The development of Flash Grüb’s digital platform and collaboration with different organizations aligns with my goals in frontend development and management – optimizing the design of our platform and conducting user research to provide the best experience for users.

In one word, how would you describe Flash Grüb?

Proactive
